Hi. I have jaws 16 and windows 7 but this problem seems to always happen to me. When I try to fill in a dollar amount in a donation box either for a charity or for a hunger relief fund, my donation doesn't seem to fill in correctly. The form keeps coming back to me and it looks like I have not filled in a field for the donation correctly. I'd rather fill this type of thing out on line rather than getting on the phone and talking to a person to give a donation. Any suggestions?
I'd need to see what organization you're talking about.
Generally if you leave the form field on and tab through the questions and type, you get it done.
After you do it, go back to the top and just read it.
Now, depending on the website, sometimes when you press send, you need to go to the bottom and agree you really want to send this, or make this payment, or whatever.
Also, some forms have check boxes, but you'll notice that using the tab key.
It's when I try to write the word dollars out and then the amount or just if I put in the numbers like 10 for ten. Salvation army is the toughest one. PM me if needed.
Ah, you don't write dollar.
Use the simble, or type the numbers in the number box like.
100.00
Or just 100
That will give it 100 dollars.
The forms will do the rest of the work.
Wayne is right, definitely don't write out the word dollars. Usually even if you're giving a whole dollar amount, they want the actual 10.00 or whatever written. Sometimes too, after you've filled it in, press insert escape to refresh the screen, (not the page), and see if it's actually there. JAWS can get weird about reading those.
